What It’s Like To Work With Me - Aging & Caregiving Support

Updated: Jun 17

A lot of elders and caregivers are new to working with a care manager for aging and caregiving support. I do regularly create content to let people know the story behind AgeWell Advocacy, who I am as the Founder & Elder Advocate, and what exactly I do to support people age 55+ and people who care for them. I am proud to let people know how I can reduce caregiver stress, create a tailored plan of care, support you with dementia care guidance, help you navigate senior living and healthcare, help you to thrive as an elder, and more. As a Gerontologist (aging expert), I’ve also created an affirming space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

A lot of people reach out to me when they are having a crisis moment. That’s totally understandable as you are near the end of your rope and completely burnt out. It’s also important to say that it’s great to reach out to me before a crisis moment so that you save yourself time, energy, and costs involved with trying to go the trial and error route. Also, think about yourself as you are interested in exploring opportunities to thrive with hobbies and interests and being proactive about taking care of your physical and mental health because that is an area where I can support you too.

Travis is standing to the side of a pot of yellow flowers and wearing a blue business jacket, blue polo shirt, and glasses. He has his hands clasped in front of him.

So when you’re thinking about reaching out to me, know that I try to be very approachable and welcoming. You can email me, text me, or call me and I’m always happy to offer a free 15 minute initial consultation to see if I’m a good fit for you. I offer these free 15 minutes because I know that working with me is an investment and you deserve someone who has your best interest at heart. During the 15 minutes, we will take the first 5 to 10 minutes to talk about the main points of your situation and then we can take a few minutes to talk about ways that I can support you.

When we both decide that I’m a good fit for supporting you, I’ll send you your intake forms for you to review and sign. After you sign these forms, we can start scheduling sessions by the hour so that I can fully understand your situation. Once we’ve been working together and I have a good grasp of your situation, I’m happy to offer 30 minute check-in as an option for me to touch base with you on an ongoing basis and to see if we need to explore more support. Aside from my phone and video consultations, I also offer care coordination services so that communication and care is a smoother process. If you need me to do practical work, such as making phone calls on your behalf, I’m happy to offer that too. With my background in yoga and holistic wellness, I also like to give the option of adding in stress relief work such as breath work and guided meditation.

I fully believe in empowering my clients by giving them the tools, resources, and guidance they need to make decisions that have their best interest in mind. I also don’t accept referral fees, so you don’t have to worry about my guidance being informed by who is paying me to suggest their services and resources. While my services work great on an ongoing basis, I’m also happy to give people a few consultations if they’re just needing immediate support.
